We shared this exciting news with our staff, residents, families and the Apostolic Christian Church people the weekend of April 28-30, 2017. It was shared with staff and residents on Friday, announced at the Midwest Gospel Sing on Saturday and in churches on Sunday. We know it will take a little time for the new name to set in, but we are very excited to have a name which is more appropriate for who we are and what we do, and is respectful of the people we serve.
In the past there has been some confusion about our name. “Apostolic Christian Timber Ridge” has been and will continue to be the name of our original 74 bed home, but it is just one of the services operated by Apostolic Christian LifePoints. Timber Ridge was never the name of the overall agency. Until the introduction of Apostolic Christian LifePoints the agency name had never been changed from Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicapped. At times we used the name “Apostolic Christian Services” to refer to the agency, however this was never our official name and will no longer be used by the agency.
We played a video that explained and introduced our new name at the Midwest Gospel Sing. Links to this video are available below. We encourage you to watch the video which has a more thorough explanation of the history and meaning of the name along with a testimony from one of the individuals we serve and her family that shares what the name means for them.
